GM Nameplate Announces Significant Upgrade to Digital Printing Capabilities

... 04/27/2009 GM Nameplate, a leading manufacturing solutions provider, announced today significant upgrades to their existing digital printing capabilities, including the addition of a new print line that offers product label printing with high-volume runs and the flexibility to utilize the latest generation of digital press and finishing capabilities. This upgrade enables GM Nameplate to print customer orders four times faster, provide shorter overall manufacturing lead times, and improve costs while providing higher quality and the most advanced digital color control. There will be a greater variety of options that will give our customers more choices with the design of their product and dramatically reduce time to market for labels and other printed packaging materials. The new press offers four-, six- and seven-color PANTONE-licensed spot color emulation, giving GM Nameplate the ability to meet customers’ demanding brand color standards. Along with the new digital printing press, GM Nameplate has added a state-of-the-art finishing line; further enhancing product design options and reducing lead times. “Our new digital printing capabilities place GM Nameplate in a position of, setting the pace in the digital printing industry,” stated Bruce Cleckley, President, GM Nameplate.  “Digital printing is one of the many types of printing we provide to meet our customers’ requirements,” continued Cleckley, “and this new press makes it simple to personalize or print unique information on each and every part; on a press with a 13” wide web and 19” repeat.” The Omega Digicon Series 2 finishing line converts printed material from the digital press into completed product; including rotary emboss, rotary hot foiling, varnishing, over-lamination, and sheet die-cutting and perforation. The upgraded digital capabilities include HP Indigo’s re-engineered digital front end to provide faster throughput. The high speed digital printing process increases GM Nameplate’s printing speed from the previous standard of 49 feet per minute to the current speed of up to 200 feet per minute.
