Quick-turn prototyping is nothing new to GMN. Our instant prototyping program allows us to provide working samples to customers in a matter a days. For most of our customers there is a growing need for prototypes, earlier and earlier in the process.
In the industry trends section of the customer survey we included a questions related to quick-turn prototyping. The question asked customers to rate, on a scale of 1 (strongly agree) to 5 (strongly disagree), the level at which they agreed that “there is an increasing demand for quick-turn prototyping.” More customers agreed with this trend than any others on the survey. In fact, only 3% of respondents disagreed, and one of the respondents that disagreed commented that they “Have always wanted quick turn prototypes. This is not new.”
GM Nameplate’s Instant Prototyping program provides customers with the ability to test their design before going into production, a vital step in creating a smart and innovative product fast. We can currently produce functional input technology and membrane switches, die cut components, and label and nameplate prototypes. For our electronic products, prototypes can be ready in 7 to 10 days. For graphic products prototypes can be ready in 3 to 4 days.
