With the demand for stainless steel products continually growing there is an alternate material that GM Nameplate has developed that has been approved in several appliance applications. Using a proprietary textured aluminum, GM Nameplate offers a viable option in our “faux stainless steel” aluminum. The aluminum is coated with a finger print resistant coating that can be tinted to match most grades of stainless steel commonly used on appliances, as well as tinted to create unique custom colors. The gloss level of the coating can also be adjusted per the customer requirements. Current applications include overlays/inlays on cooking products and door components for refrigeration products.
The end product has the look and feel of stainless steel, with savings in part cost and reduced weight.
