Some equipment is intended to be used in potentially explosive environments like petrochemical plants, offshore platforms, mines and flour mills. Such products sold in the European Union (EU) must meet the ATEX equipment directive 94/9/EC.

GM Nameplate builds membrane switch assemblies with a static dissipative touch screen/keypad overlay that will allow our customers to meet ATEX requirements.

Our overlays are used in machine vibration analysis devices intended for use in environments with a potentially explosive atmosphere. The overlays are made with a coated film that not only provides hardness, chemical resistance, clarity and toughness but also provides a surface resistivity of 105 – 1010 ohms per square and rapid, permanent static dissipation. The finished product conforms to ATEX Directive 94/9/EC for Category 3 equipment for use in zones 2 or 22, as certified by Baseefa, a third party agency.
