Subpanels

The platform or construction on which a membrane switch or an overlay is mounted and a PCB, LCD or other component is attached, is a subpanel.

GM Nameplate offers several varieties of subpanel options including aluminum, cold roll steel, stainless steel, plastic or printed circuit boards.

FACTS ADVANTAGES LIMITATIONS

Subpanels are usually between .040"-.125" thick

Aluminum may be anodized, sealed, unsealed, dyed or undyed

Cold roll steel may be plated

Stainless steel may be brushed, sanded or detailed with other finishes

Printed circuit boards may be single or multi-layered

Less expensive than plastic molded housings/bezels

Available in several metals and levels of hardness

Stainless steel subpanels are more expensive due to hardness of material
